Positioning Indigenous women-owned businesses into Canada’s tourism supply chain means promoting access to culturally proper training and investment opportunities at the right time.

Understanding the significance of Indigenous tourism in Canada’s economic recovery and reconciliation requires a values-based lens focused on Indigenous worldviews, traditional knowledge, and social impact. In addition, investment into recommended business models to support the development of the Indigenous tourism economy in the North requires informed investment into developing sustainable livelihoods for Indigenous women entrepreneurs through tourism.
